Consumers Energy is widely promoting the array of assistance options available though the State of Michigan and non-profit agencies. To this end, we welcome the MiCAFE network’s help promoting utility assistance opportunities at the local level. It is through dedicated, caring partners that we are best able to extend time-sensitive energy assistance messages to our customers!
In that spirit and as we enter into spring and warmer weather, Consumers Energy is reminding its customers to seek help with past-due bills while funds remain. For income-qualified households who have fallen behind over winter, the time to act is now! Key assistance programs are soon closing as agency funds are limited, need remains high, and help is on a first-come-first-served basis. The company is widely promoting this message through targeted communications, such as the insert attached hereto, highlighting three key channels of aid and respective eligibility information.
Most importantly, Michigan DHHS State Emergency Relief (SER) program closes on May 31.
In the immediate term, please help us share the attached insert within your community networks and with Consumers Energy customers.
