Overview: Medicaid is a low-income health care program. Due to Medicaid expansion, the income limits was recently raised in Michigan to 133% of the Federal Poverty Limit making more people eligible for health care coverage through Medicaid. Assets are also used to determine eligibility. You can apply online through MI Bridges. Elder Law of Michigan’s MiCAFE program helps seniors apply for Medicaid if they also need help with the Food Assistance Program application.
